I've tried this on Pc and Mac. but having some issues on Mac with Unity set to iOS platform.

On initial import it took about 2 hours to load, spending a lot of time with the PVRTC conversion on the sprite textures.

The settings On PC Desktop the sprites are (for eg Txt_Shoot_8x5_40.png) are 4096x2048 RGBA Compression DXT5
on OSX set to iOS   Txt_Shoot_8x5_40.png is 4096 x 4096 RGBA Compressed PVRTC 4 bits

On PC the demo loads fine, press a button they FX play instantly.
On OSX they take a 3 to 5 seconds the first time before the FX is instantiated, then next time it plays almost instantly.
Additionally some are crashing Unity completely. ie: Txt Shoot just flickers white then Unity crashed completely.

Is there some problem with png importer?
What are the recommended settings for the sprite sheets on iOS? (8mb is far too large for mobile use!)
Why does it take so long to load first time, then play ok?

Hi Sonicviz,

We observed this phenomenon of the slow import on IOS or OSX, but not only with our packages.

I can't tell you why, because it's come from Unity ...

With Unity you can decide the size of the texture on importer setting. For IOS , you can not exceed 2048 X 2048
